Is depression surprising
Among sensitive souls existing in a society
Which allows babies to die if their intellectual level doesn't measure up.
While conversely
Forcing elderly to continue lives which are straining to ebb away.
Helpless infant
Unable to know whether you want what is snatched from you.
Helpless old man
Unable to get rid of what you no longer find tolerable.
Helpless soul
Unable to resist the depression which pulls you down.
